Payton Lockett, age 60, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born Friday, February 5, 1954 in Biringham, Alabama. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Walker - Walnut Hills Chapel , 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Payton attended Cincinnati Public School. After school, he worked at Veterans Hospital, Mapp Cleaning Services, and other various jobs. Payton was a loving man who accepted Christ at a young age. Everyone enjoyed his smile and his cool, laid back attitude. He helped anyone and everyone he could. Whenever you needed him, he was always there. He will truly be missed by many. He was very, very close to his great nephew, Joe'Juan. He looked at him as his son. Joe'Juan will truly miss him. He was preceded in death by his father, Abraham and mother Mary Frances Lockett. He leaves to cherish his memory: his one and only sister, Judy Nell Lockett-Collins; brother-in-law, Gary L. Collins; his niece, La'Frances Collins; nephews, Gary Payton Collins and Blane Long; three great-nephews, Joe'Juan, Omari and Gary Collins. A list of close friends that he looked at as family. A close friend, Dorothy Kisitu; and a sister like Lanita Barnett, cousin from Brooklyn, New York, Sandra Dumas Fields, Monica Dumas, Karen (Vanessa) Dumas Graves, Herman Dumas and many more.
