To this union 11 children were born. Pauline was known affectionately as Polly by her family. Pauline was educated in the Montgomery, Alabama school system. She confessed Christ at an early age at Bryant Street Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Pauline was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie Thomas; no children were born to this union. She later relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she joined First English Lutheran Church. She was a caregiver to many family members such as the late Polly Boone. Hence, many called her "Little Polly." Additionally, she cared for and helped raise her Cincinnati nieces and nephews. She loved children and worked at a day care center. Loving her family, she was always willing to help out whenever needed. Polly housekeeping skills were legendary. She was known not only to clean but organize a home to an exemplary condition. Pauline was a generous, fun loving person. She had an amazing smile and was loved by many, especially at the Dual Manor Nursing Center where she resided until God called her from labor to her reward on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Pauline is survived by one sister, Ida Welborne of Virginia Beach, VA and one brother, John Carter, of Detroit, MI, one special cousin whom she loved dearly, Kelly Higgins and his family of Cincinnati, Ohio. Polly is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Preceding her in death are her brothers, Nathan, Robert, Joe, and Frank and sisters, Annie, Callie, Mamie, Nellie Mae, and Patsie.
