IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline
Sims
August 25, 1962 – September 3, 2020
Pauline Sims was born August 25, 1962 to James and Flourine Sims. She was baptized at an early age at Southern Baptist Church in Avondale on Reading Road. She grew up on the West End Lincoln Courts. She attended Robert. A Taft High School. Pauline loved to dress up in her dresses and high heels. She was a beautiful and very popular girl.
Pauline was known as ''Polly'' to many close friends and family. Her favorite name was "Mama". Polly gave birth to 10 children that she loved dearly, Toshawn Sims, Robert Sims, Sylvester Sims, Amika Turner, Jamico Turner, Nairah Turner, Johnathan Turner, Keith Sims, Heaven Turner, and Samone Turner. She shared a special relationship with each and every one of them. She loved them all equally. Most of all she shared a very special relationship with the love of her life, her husband, Sylvester Turner. They met in 1986 in Downtown Cincinnati on Findlay Street. Pauline and Sylvester would spend the next 34 years together. They created a beautiful, loving family with 10 children, and 15 grandchildren, Jamico, Karma, Te'irah, Te'ana, E'miya, Jamiya, Ava, Yahari, Yamina, Jah'faye, Jamere, Jacorey, Zahra, Te'lah, and Jenesis who she loved very much. They her knew as "Maw Maw". In addition to her husband Sylvester, her 10 children and 15 grand children she also leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Jackie Sims; brother, James Sims; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister in laws, brother in laws, cousins, family and friends.
Pauline was very outspoken, witty, and not afraid to speak her mind. She was herself at all times. She was a girly girl. She would get dressed up, and put on her dress, heels and lipstick. She felt like the prettiest, chocolate woman in the world. She loved being around her family. She was a home body and loved being home watching her shows/stories: The young and the Restless, Guiding Light, The Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns, Judge Mathis, and Maury. She loved watching them with her kids. She loved talking, but had a good listening ear and always gave great advice. Before Pauline died she was a member of Mosaic Vineyard Church.
She attended church every Sunday and Wednesday. She loved to go to Wednesday church as we called it. She looked forward to attend every week. She made sure her children were there with her. Pauline knew the importance of having a relationship with Christ. She decided to give her life over to Christ again, and was baptized for the second time by Pastor Hal and Deb. They loved her and she loved them. Pauline and Pastor/First Lady Mrs. Deb shared a special bond with each other. Pauline was loved by many and will be missed.
She was proceeded in death by her father, James Sims Sr.; her mother, Flourine Sims; her sister, Mary Lee Dates; her daughter, Samira Le'cream Turner; and her son, Robert Deshawn Sims.
