Pauline Ryce, née Sims, was born on November 2, 1941, to the late William Sr. and the late Lessie Mae Sims in Sumter, South Carolina.

Pauline was named after her paternal grandmother. She lived in Sumter, South Carolina, with her loving family until she married George William Ryce Sr. on January 16, 1960, and then they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Within their union, two sons were born, Jorge Ryce, Jr. and Anthony Wayne Ryce.

Pauline gave and received plenty of love from an abundance of children who were left in her care over a substantial number of years, and she was affectionately known as “The Miss Pauline”. She worked in the hotel industry as a supervisor at the Marriott Hotel and the Ramada Inn for several years. She loved and nurtured her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone else’s children.

Pauline was also preceded in death by her loving husband, George Ryce Sr.; her youngest son, Anthony Wayne Ryce, Sr.; her siblings, Dorothy Mae Muller, Marion Sims, LeRoy Sims Sr., and Vermelle Simmons.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her devoted and caring son, Jorge Ryce, Jr.; her grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Jorge, III, Anthony, Jr. Jada, and Jana; her siblings, William, Jr., Louise Scott [Calvin (deceased)], James (Gail), Carol Williams [Eugene (deceased)]; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the St. Mary Baptist Church, 4289 Westwood Northern Blvd., Cincinnati (45211). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
