IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paulette
Hill
October 13, 1942 – August 25, 2025
Sister Paulette Hill was born on October 13, 1942, in Andrews, North Carolina (NC), to the union of Mr. James and Christine Dorsey. She was the youngest of their nine children.
Paulette accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at an early age. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Andrews, NC.
After relocating to Cincinnati in the early 1950s, Paulette maintained her faith and continued to nurture her spiritual life. She became a member of St. Mary Baptist Church, serving under the leadership of the late Reverend H.M. Smith. Subsequently, she transferred her membership to Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where Reverend H.M. Smith continued to serve as Pastor until his passing. During her time there, she also served under Reverend Herbert E. Mabry and Reverend Mark T. Hawkins until his death. Later, Reverend Ed Smith was called to preach and accepted the role of Pastor, further enriching her spiritual journey.
Paulette was actively involved in church activities, notably joining the Missionary Society Board and serving as its President. Her dedication to her church and her leadership role as President were evident in her unwavering commitment. She was also a devoted Sunday School attendee, known for her punctuality and dedication—she was often the first to arrive at church every Sunday, parking and waiting for the doors to open, exemplifying her commitment and discipline.
Paulette worked at Children's Hospital for over 40 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.
Paulette was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; her parents, James and Christine Dorsey; four brothers, Gwyn, Frank, Willard (Harold), and Jimmy (twin); and three sisters, Mary (Margie), Sarah, and Jean (twin).
She leaves to cherish her memory; one son, Willie H. Jr. (loving and supportive girlfriend, Victoria Tribble); one sister-in-law, Liz; one brother-in-law, Morris Ackerson; two nieces, Cheryl Hammonds and Mary Crooks (Derrick); two nephews, Edward J. (Red) and Edward Ronnel (Ronnie); a host of great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends who loved her dearly and considered her family.
