Responsible for bringing the Japanese hit film Gojira to American audiences, making it a huge hit known as Godzilla (1956). He also owned and operated a number of Los Angeles movie theaters, including the Belasco, Coronet and Las Palmas. He was married to popular actress Lois Collier for many years.
