Paul accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Newport, Kentucky under the leadership of his father, the late Reverend Paul Dan McMillan Sr and brother Reverend Frederick L. He was determined to live life to the fullest, and he did just that until his health began to fail. He always kept a smile on his face and would hardly ever complain about his illness. Paul married his high school sweetheart Denise Baggett, and this union was Blessed with four children. His eldest child LaRetha was from a previous relationship. He had a heart of gold and loved his family dearly. He was always positive and spoke well of his family and would tell anyone who asked how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Reverend Paul D. McMillan Sr. and niece Rasheeda McMillan.
