IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Oscar Lee
Pressley
September 17, 1959 – July 22, 2025
Oscar Lee Pressley was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 17, 1959. He was the youngest of seven children, a blessing to the union of Herman Pressley and Gladys Ross Jackson Pressley. Oscar departed this life on July 22, 2025.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents.
Oscar was baptized at First Baptist Church of Walnut Hills at an early age. Later in life, Oscar visited Christ Emmanuel Church and Crossroads Church.
Oscar was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System. He graduated from Hughes High School in 1978, where he was Captain of the Chess Team. Oscar was a particularly good artist; drawing was his specialty. He was an avid reader. He graduated from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Oscar never married nor had children of his own. He had a lot of nieces and nephews whom he treated like his own. He had a dear friend, Kimberly Haugabrook, who was like his sister. Kim's daughters, Keria and Kyla, were like nieces to him.
Oscar began working right after graduating from high school and worked at different organizations throughout his life. His concentration and passion were in organizations where he could use his Early Childhood Education knowledge. Oscar started working for Taco Casa, which had extra benefits, including free dinner. He went on to work at Cavelier Cleaners.
He loved working at St. Aloysius Orphanage in Cincinnati, Ohio. He had a compassion for children and their quality of life. Oscar would begin work at the Cincinnati Community Action Agency (CCAA) – Theodore Berry Child Development Center, where he could help nurture children who needed it. He later worked at the Children's Home of Cincinnati.
At the time of his passing, Oscar was working for the Children's Hospital Psychiatric Residential Program as a Behavioral Health Specialist. Last week, they held a special program celebrating Oscar's life, where staff and the children spoke of how special Oscar was and the impact he had at work.
Oscar enjoyed playing bid whist, chess, reading, skating, watching movies, and thrifting. He would come home from watching movies and recommend them to family and friends. His enthusiastic bid whist skills often led him to outbid his partner to win the kitty. If anyone ever needed his own "Design Your Room" TV show, it was Oscar. He thrifted with that same keen eye, and his home looked straight out of Home and Garden magazine.
Oscar leaves to cherish his memory: three brothers, Richard E. Jackson (Euline), Marion Lewis Jackson, and Joseph F. Pressley; two sisters, Patricia A. Finley and LeVon Pressley; one uncle, Walter F. Ross; one aunt, Katie Mae Ross; dear cousin, Diana Ross Belmer (Todd); dear friend, Kimberly Haugabrook; nieces and nephews; Janet Entzminger, JoAnn House, Jocquelene Pressley, Richard E. Jackson, Jr., Willie Mack Finley II, Marion Lewis Hudson, Jermaine Goodwin, Joseph Goodwin, Jeremy Pressley, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
