Home Going Celebration For Osby Pates

Osby was born to the union of Joseph and Alberta Pates, on August 24, 1964, in Rosedale, Mississippi. They later moved to Cincinnati, where Osby attended Cape Elementary and Aiken High Schools.  He passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in Cincinnati,  Ohio.

Ed, a nickname he was given as a child, was loved by many for his wittiness and sense of humor. He was always cracking jokes and always had a smile.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and his mother, Alberta, five brothers, two sisters, and his sister Diane departed this life two days later. He leaves to mourn his Home Going seven sons: Osby Grant of South Carolina, Aaron, Antonio, Mark, Brian, Brandon, and Ahmad, all of Cincinnati; six sisters: Rosie Lee Pennington, Denise, Marilyn, Theresa, and Mary of Cincinnati, Lenora Stanciel of Bloomington, Illinois; two brothers: Charles Pates of Chicago, Illinois, and Joseph Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
