IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Orlando S
Parker Jr
February 24, 1953 – January 29, 2014
Orlando Parker (June), gone but not forgotten. On February 24, 1953, Orlando Parker, Jr. was born to Loretta and Orlando Parker, Sr. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Orlando is preceded in death by his father Orlando Parker Sr. and mother Loretta Parker; grandparents, William and Lois Simelton, William and Charlotte Parker. Orlando had a beautiful childhood growing up. He attended Sands Elementary School, Bloom Jr. High and Taft Senior High School, all in the West End. He spent lots of weekends and summers with his grandparents, William and Charlotte; his brothers and sisters in Lincoln Heights. During his young life in school, he loved singing in talent shows, acting and performing arts. He was famous for his barbecuing, gardening and he loved to play music.
No one was ever a stranger to him. Everyone he met never forgot him, because he was so friendly and outgoing. He loved to invite family and friends over for good food and fun. During his years as a young man, he married his sweetheart, Gwen Harrison and to this union a son was born, Orlando (Trey) Harrison. Later in life, Orlando moved to Georgia. He returned home due to his mother's illness. He met Bennie Langford and after a relationship, he married and accepted her three children Fred, LaCheryl (who he loved dearly) and Anthony. Orlando was a hard worker and worked up until his health started failing him. He departed this life on January 29, 2014 with his family by his bedside, praying and hold his hands as he transitioned into his next life. He leaves his family to remember the love he had for everyone. His loving wife Bennie; his only child Orlando (Kisha), stepchildren Fred, LaCheryl and Anthony; his stepmother Maggie Parker, his loving sisters Sherry (Otis), Armenta (James), Charlotte (Rick), Kassandra, Pamela, and Sandy; brothers Tyrone, Vincent and Stephen; his aunt Anna Mae; his uncle Billy (Jenny); grandchildren Orland Jr., Eric, Janilan, Ny'Shalae and Ke'Orland (whom he loved dearly); plenty of nieces, nephews, and cousins. His friends from the West End gave him the name 'Flavor Flav' and they knew why (smile). He may have left us, but he will not be forgotten.
