Obituary

Thaddeus LaDwayne Steele was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 8, 1964, to the late Emanuel Steele and Eula Mae Steele. Thad suffered from several maladies and with hospital corridors full of family and friends, Thad departed this life on November 18, 2016 at 9:05 AM at Mercy Franciscan West Hospital. Thad attended Western Hills High School, class of 1983 where he played baseball, basketball and football. During his senior year, Thad was named the 2nd String of the All Public High School League Team as a running back. He was drafted and played baseball professionally for the Bradenton Marauders for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Thad loved sports especially Golf (West Golf Club & Tee Partners, you name it, Thad played it. Thad also enjoyed his electronic gadgets, family and friends gatherings, shopping online, movies, traveling and his old school 70's and 80's music. Thad had a heart of Gold, always smiling, wanting everyone in his presence to be happy, even through his physical pain. Thad enlisted in the United States Army on October 4, 1985 and served as a Material Specialist (E-4). He was honorably discharged October 4, 1988. After the military, Thad worked for Hillshire Farms and Kahn's Meats from 1989 to 1992. He joined the Cincinnati Police Division as a Police Recruit on June 7, 1992. Thad then promoted to Police Officer P-245 on October 25, 1992 and assigned to District 2, then rotated to District 1 and after 8 years, he transferred to District 4. Thad definitely loved his job and over the last few years, he gained a reputation as the 3rd Relief Desk Man. Thad was blessed in his previous marriage to Barbara Stewart-Steele in that Union two children were born Thaddeus Stewart-Steele, Jasmine Stewart-Steele. On August 9, 2008 in Holy Matrimony Married Monika Steele and to that Union they were blessed with three children Chad Steele, Brittany Baker and Jordan Baker. Thaddeus leaves to cherish his memory, Wife Monika Steele, mother Eula Steele, mother-in-law, Geraldine Marshall, father-n-law Eckie Marshall, siblings Corine Wickersham, Doris Taylor, Diane Redd, Detra Steele and baby Sister Juanita Steele, two brothers Melvin Steele (Karen), Jerry Steele (Niecy), sister-n-laws Helen Clark (Joe), Zabiyah Israel (Ahiqar)Virginia Murray (Shannon), brother-n-laws Edwin Marshall (Lorraine), Michael Marshall (Lashaun), Mackeroy, Virgil Marshall (Tonya), aunt Daisy Kirksey, and one Uncle Mack Oldes (Liz) as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving Father Emanuel Steele (Bam), Sister Lula Steele, Sister Leila Richardson, brother Maine Steele. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2365 Compton Road, Cincinnati (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at noon. The Rev. Dr. Cecil Ferrell will officiate. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232. Pallbearers will be Cincinnati Police Officers: P.O. Phill Black, P.O. Wendell Davidson, P.O. Terrance Dobbins, P.O. Anthony Hill, P.O. Brian Johnson, P.O. Randy Phillips, P.O. Darrell Rhone, and P.O. Marcus Sherman. Honorary Pallbearers: Kent Farmer, , Lil Melvin, Seth Steele, Shannon Murray, Tony Steele, Semaj Steele, Thaddeus Steele, Michael Marshall, Edwin Marshall.
