Odessa 'Peaches Chaney 1944-2016 TO VIEW / PRINT / DOWNLOAD FUNERAL PROGRAM https://www.scribd.com/doc/299865377/Odessa-Chaney-Funeral-Program Odessa "Peaches" Chaney, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Odessa was born on April 22, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Richard and Flora Lee (nee Bates) Chaney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Chaney. Rather it was a kind word, ole school wisdom, a home cooked meal, or a greeting card with money; she gave genuinely from the heart without the expectation of receiving. Odessa enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, and grilling any and everything even in during winter time. Odessa was a beloved child of God and accepted Him as her Savior. She was a member of the Eternal Life Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. Perhaps her greatest legacy as a mother is the life she modeled before her children each and every day just by being who she was. By example, she taught them to love one another, to love their extended family, to look upon others with kindness and compassion and that selfishness is not a virtue. Everyone who knew Odessa knew what a great sense of humor she had, and she imparted that to her children as well. Through all of life's passages, she found a reason to laugh and smile. Odessa was a beautiful soul who lived a beautiful life. At her death, as it had been throughout her life, she was surrounded by the love of her family, the love of the Holy Spirit who gently escorted her home. She will be missed, yet loved and sweetly remembered until we meet again. Odessa leaves to cherish her legacy and memory, five sons, James Chaney (deceased) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Christopher-Charles Chaney of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and James Earl Chaney, Jessie Eugene Chaney, and Darrell Wayne Chaney, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Brothers: Richard Chaney, Jr, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Larry Chaney of Nashville, Tennessee, Perry "Huck" Chaney of Knoxville, Tennessee, Curtis Chaney (deceased) of Knoxville, Tennessee; Sisters, Beverly Chaney-Lowery (deceased) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Paula K. Chaney-Lowery of Cincinnati, Ohio, Carolyn Chaney (deceased) of Nashville, Tennessee, Floretta Chaney of Knoxville, Tennessee, Aunt, Fannie Achoes of Cincinnati, Ohio; Grandchildren: Darrell Davis-Chaney, Jasmine Chaney, Taquiesha Chaney, Daniel Chaney, and Dakota Booker; devoted friend, Deborah William of Kendridge, Virginia, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206).
