Odell Neal quietly departed this life on May 4, 2026, at Christ Hospital Hospice Division with his loving wife by his side. Odell was born on January 20, 1950, to Albert and Osie (Sanders) Neal, Sr.

Odell was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Osie Neal Sr.; his son, Carey Thompkins; his sisters, Aileen Reese and Inez Little; and his brothers, Clifford “Red” Neal, Larry Neal, and Sylvester Neal. He received his education at Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School.

Everyone who knew Odell loved and respected him for his generous spirit, sharp wisdom, unforgettable style, and the pride he carried in everything he did.

From an early age, Odell carried himself with confidence and class that could never be overlooked. Widely regarded as one of the best-dressed men wherever he went, his style and presence earned him admiration and respect throughout the community.

Odell was especially known for his love of a clean Cadillac, always equipped with Vogue tires. He often said, “It ain’t a Caddy if it ain’t got Vogues,” a phrase that became part of his signature charm. His attention to detail and pride in presentation reflected the way he approached life — boldly, intentionally, and with dignity. Recognizing the need to give his life to Christ, Odell was baptized and became a devoted member of the New St. Paul Baptist Church in Cincinnati’s West End.

Beyond his appearance, Odell was deeply admired for his generosity and willingness to help others. He frequently offered advice, encouragement, and support to those in need. He especially enjoyed mentoring young men, encouraging them to stay focused, avoid trouble, and carry themselves with confidence and respect. His kindness, wisdom, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Odell will be remembered for his giving spirit, his unforgettable personality, and the genuine care he showed to others. His warmth, humor, and wisdom will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

Odell leaves to cherish and honor his memory his wife, Brenda; his children, Kisha Kiner (Clifton), Odell Neal, Cody Falings, and De’Angelo Boynton; his bonus children, Brian Welch and Brandi Welch; and a very special little lady, Brielle Welch, whom he affectionately called “Grandbaby.”

He is also survived by his siblings, Albert Neal, Jr. (“Pap”), Betty Solomon, Ronald Neal (Laura), Albert Neal (Mary), along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives, and dear friends who loved him deeply.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his love, wisdom, style, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Corinthian Baptist Church, 1920 Tennessee Avenue, Cincinnati (45237).
