Obie Waldron,
Jr.
November 15, 1925 – July 15, 2018
Obie Waldron Jr., son of the late Obie Waldron Sr. and Clary Lacy Waldron, was born November 15, 1925 in Parrish Alabama. Brother Waldron departed from this life July 15, 2018 after a extended illness. He accepted salvation through Jesus Christ and was baptized at a young age. He became a member of Peace Baptist Church located in Alabama. Obie's christian journey led him to become a faithful servant of the Lord. After graduating from high school, Brother Obie enlisted into the United States Army. He was stationed in Central Burma India. As a World War II veteran, Brother Obie received Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars along with other decorations. After completing military service Brother Obie moved to Cincinnati Ohio. He was united in matrimony to his beloved wife Lottie Smith. In their union they raised three lovely daughters; Crystal, Cornelia, and Brenda. Brother Obie was employed by both the Cincinnati Post and Cincinnati Enquirer Newspapers. He worked for the companies over three decades, retiring at age 65. During his years with the newspaper, Brother Obie was regarded with much respect by his co-workers and others. Throughout his life, Brother Obie was sincere in helping others especially the elderly. After his retirement, Brother Obie helped deliver meals on wheels to the seniors. He really enjoyed helping the elderly and making them smile. Brother Obie was active in church and was selected to become a Deacon. His ministry included visiting the sick and shut-in and he was active with the children's ministry. He was faithful in attending weekly prayer meeting and bible study. After the passing of his wife at a early age, Brother Obie devoted himself with the raising of his three daughters. He leaves to mourn his passing his three daughters; Crystal(Warren), Cornelia (Mario), and Brenda(Woody). He also leaves behind a nephew; Henry(Linda) Johnson with children and a niece; Barbara Ann Johnson with children. Along with two grandchildren; Mario Jr. and Nicole, with a host of loving relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:30 am until 11:30 am, on Friday, July 27, 2018, at the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3655 Harvey Avenue, Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241.
