On March 9, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Nzoia Haugabook was born to Nathaniel Haugabook Sr. and Betty Haugabook. From an early age, it was clear he possessed a remarkable athletic gift and passion. As a child, he earned the nickname "Road Runner" because of his incredible speed. His talent on the soccer field quickly became well known, where he earned numerous trophies and was even featured in local newspapers for his athletic accomplishments. He also attended Aiken High School.

Although gifted in athletics, his character left the greatest impression on everyone who knew him. He was a man of unwavering positivity, quiet strength, and genuine kindness. It was rare to see him angry or holding a grudge. He carried himself with humility, and treated others with respect. When it was time to celebrate, no one enjoyed the moment quite like he did.  He believed in earning everything through honest, dedicated work and spent much of his career in the medical field. His final place of employment was Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Even outside of work, he was always on the move. Walking was simply a part of who he was. If there was somewhere to go, chances were he was walking there.To know him was also to know his unmatched love for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was not simply a fan; he was a true, lifelong Bengals supporter. Family and friends will forever remember the excitement, loyalty, and passion he brought to every season. His Bengals pride became one of his signature traits and will remain one of the first things people think of whenever they remember him. Above all else, he cherished his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Joyce Johnson, and their dog Zeus; his mother, Betty Haugabook; mother-in-law, Bessie Johnson; his sisters, Darlene Ferguson and Darlene Barnes; his brothers, James Scruggs and Ronald Haugabook; his brothers-in-law, Harold Johnson and Darrell Johnson; his nephews-in-law, Antwan Peek Sr. and Deonita Brundidge; his nieces and nephews, Sharonda Scruggs, Brittany Ferguson, Erica Hall, Lawrence Parish, Harry Ferguson, Nathaniel, Na'Sante, Ronneisha, Jairon, Re’maile, Rayven, Ronald, and James. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Haugabook Sr.,his brother, Nathaniel Haugabook Jr. and sister Sheryll Scruggs. And also leaves behind a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love, laughter, and memories they shared with him.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. Interment to follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
