In Loving Memory of Nettie Elnora Williams 1915 - 2013 Nettie Elnora Williams, age 98, entered eternal rest December 25, 2013 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born November 23, 1915 in Coatopa, Alabama to the union of the late Louis and Channey Williams. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2 at Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). Williams was born to the late Louis Williams and Channey Williams in Coatopa, Alabama November 23, 1915. She was the only sister of the late Charlie Williams. Nettie attended Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she received her education and a place of worship. As a young child, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Nettie Williams married Joseph Williams May 30, 1933. To this union she was blessed with six children: David Williams (Marjorie), Sadie Williams, Alice Kavanaugh (James), Mildred Patmon (Maurice Sr.), Jimmy L. Williams Sr., and Barbara Williams. Nettie relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where she was a dedicated employee of General Hospital now known as University Hospital. After many years of service, she retired in 1979. Nettie was known as 'Granny' to most and a mother at heart to all she came in contact with. Nettie was always seen helping others. She served with the 'feeding the homeless' ministry at New Unity Baptist Church for years under the leadership of Rev. Mark Tony. Her two grandsons that preceded her in death: Gene Williams and Maurice L. Patmon Jr. Nettie E. Williams leaves to cherish her memory: her sons David Williams, Jimmy L. Williams Sr.; her grandchildren: Ron Williams, Jerry Williams, David Kavanaugh, Donald Kavanaugh, Robin Snell, Kellie Williams (Lewis), Nicole Williams, Millicent Williams, Jimmy Williams Jr., Dorothy Madaris, Kevin Williams; 41 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
