Nazir Darnell
Owens
August 24, 2010 – March 22, 2026
Nazir Owens was conceived by his mother, Philicia Owens, and his father, Paulajheya Walker (Paul).
He was also lovingly raised by Terrance Oats Jr. (T.O.), who helped raise him as his biological son until he was 8 years old, and by his stepfather, Tidel Seymour.
When Nazir was born, his family was more than excited. He was the firstborn grandson and the oldest of seven children in his household. Nazir was loving, sweet, and caring. He loved to dance, sing, and play video games. He had multiple pets because he loved animals.
Once Nazir reached the age where he could play football and basketball, he fell in love with both sports. He also loved spending the night at the homes of his friends and family. No matter where he went, he always left a lasting impression on those around him.
Nazir was a tough young man—resilient and nurturing. He was beginning to come out of his shell, becoming more expressive, joking more, and growing more confident. He loved to “talk his stuff” to his friends and family in a playful way. Above all, he was loving and caring.
We know Nazir is happy to be with his grandfather again. Losing his grandfather, Phillip Owens Sr., who was his first role model of what a man should be, was very hard for him. Nazir looked up to all of his uncles and cousins, especially his Uncle Rashawn, whom he truly looked up to like a big brother.
Nazir was the best big brother to his siblings. His brother, Terrance (Debo), looked up to him, and they were best friends. Nazir was a very caring, loving, and smart young man. Like any other child, he had a few flaws. When he was away for 18 months, he would call home to talk about all of his plans and dreams for his future.
Nazir was so happy to be home and shared his passion with his family. He wanted to become a nurse after helping to nurture and care for his grandmother, Nicole.
Nazir leaves behind his mother, Philicia; his father, Paulajheya; his two grandmothers, Nicole and Wylette; his six siblings, Terrance (Debo), Paris, Tidel, Promise, Phaith, and Tylin; his five aunts, Christina, Jakyra, Capriesha, Kyeisha, and Giani; and his seven uncles, Phillip, Quincy, Deionus, Charles, Rashawn, Gianni, and Gregonte.
He also leaves behind his favorite cousins, Christy’Ana, Giona, Pinky, and Nysha; his best friend, Quaron; as well as many other family members and friends.
