Nathaniel Foster was born on January 27, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama to the union of Sandy Foster, Sr. and Sybil Foster. "Nate" as he was affectionately called was educated through Jackson Elementary School, Bloom Middle School and graduated from Robert A Taft High School in 1968. Nate found Christ at an early age. He was a member of New Christian Life Baptist Church which led him to Cornerstone Baptist Church, Rev. Monroe Fiser, Pastor. Nate was identified as "a great man" that did great things for the young people throughout Cincinnati. His impact through athletic and coaching affected Cincinnati youth for over thirty years. That impeccable work ethic lead to his commitment to mentoring through Cincinnati Public Schools until the End Zone Club, where his efforts, work and passion was to make a difference in the community, one child at a time. Nate was a champion to many but also a father figure to those who needed it. His passing will leave a deep void to those who loved him. Everlasting peace came to him on April 25, 2018. Nate leaves his precious memories to be cherished by: wife, Gwendolyn Foster; his children, Christopher (Amy) Foster, Rhonda Johnson, Shea (Bridget) Johnson; grandchildren, Isaiah, C.J., Myles, Teagan, Maria, Christian, Ashley, Kaitlyn and Josh; his brothers, Sandy Foster, Jr., Charles Foster and Curtis Foster, all of Cincinnati and Michael Floyd of Eufaula, AL; his sisters, Angela Jones and Anita Chapman, both of Cincinnati, a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the Higher Ground Ministries, 1391 E. Crescentville Road , Cincinnati (45246). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
