Obituary

Mrs. Myrtle Rose Chastang Bailey was born on February 28, 1925 as the third child of six to Madline Collins and Frank Chastang, Mobile, Alabama. She married World War II veteran, Wheeler Hop Bailey, whom she met at the Military Base in Mobile where she worked. They had ten children. She was a loving wife of over 45 years, kind, devoted, loving mother, grandmother, and great-great grandmother, had a wonderful sense of humor, brought her children up to know the LORD, worked at St. Mary's and Providence Hospitals until her retirement and then worked as a home helper for the elderly shut ins. She was a volunteer reading tutor for elementary school students. She enjoyed playing bingo and pokeno, volunteered as a poll worker for many years, at Assumption Church bingo games and for Easter Seals. Mrs. Bailey enjoyed going to Parish functions, family gatherings, movies, dining out and traveling. She enjoyed watching TV news and her favorite game shows, "The Price is Right and Jeopardy." At the age of 55, she studied for and passed the test for her GED Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Church Of The Resurrection, 1619 California Avenue, Cincinnati (45237). Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
