Myrtis Rucker Graham was born on December 25, 1936, in Greensboro, Georgia to the late Q.T. Edwards Sr. and Bertha Mae Edwards. She departed this life on January 29, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 89. She attended 6th District Elementary, Rothenberg, and Stowe Schools. She got married at an early age to Willie Rucker. Later in life she married Ralph Graham. She worked at Glass Rest Home, St. Francis Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, 12th Street Clinic, and Elm Street Clinic.
She loved to read and listen to music. She was the creator of the double-decker chicken liver and boiled egg sandwich and was famous for her fried chicken and potato salad.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jacqueline Metz (Walter Anthony Metz II), grandsons Walter Anthony Metz III & Christopher Lee Metz, and siblings Josephine Edwards and Q.T. Edwards Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Willie Michael Rucker, Anthony Rucker, Richard Rucker (Sharlana), siblings Annie Bertha Edwards, Ruby Jackson (Reggie), Carolyn Edwards, Allene Mills, Ramona Vanessa Davis (Andre), grandchildren Ebony Nicole Rucker, Michael J. Rucker, Erica Rucker, Tony Robinson, Baseemah Rucker, Qawi Rucker, Kenya Metz, Nicholas Metz, Kristina Metz, Napoleon Stewart, William Stewart, DeMarco Stewart and a host of great grandchildren and loving family members.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
