Myra Jean Perdue, age 81 years old, passed away on June 12, 2015. She was born on January 15, 1934 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She was a baptized member of General Assembly Lighthouse of Middlesboro, KY where she loved singing devotion and praise and worship. She received the gift of the Holy Ghost at Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church, Cincinnati, OH in 1998. She retired from Bethesda Oak Environmental Services after 22 years of service in 1999. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Shree Phillips of Cincinnati, OH; and two sons: Gary Smith (Margaret) and James Thomas Spriggs Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; her beloved mother, Myra Lenora Booker Smith of Middlesboro, KY; and two brothers: William "Bill" Roosevelt Smith (Mable) of Middlesboro, KY and W. J. Smith of Shreveport, LA, one great great grandchild, 25 great grandchildren, and 11 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by husband, Bennie D. Perdue in 1990. Also, she was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Smith Sr.; sisters, Julie Ann Smith Bryant (Cornelius) and Ruth Smith Dunson (Hosea); and brothers, John Wesley Smith and John Robert Smith Jr. We would like to acknowledge special friends and family, her granddaughter, Moneeca Phillips, who she raised as a child; Mr. George Ferguson of Knoxville, TN; and a host family from Dayton and Toledo, OH and Indianapolis, IN of widowed husband, Bennie D. Perdue, and Ms. Eddie Bell of Cincinnati, OH. Myra will be remembered for her humor, hospitality, cooking, and sacrificial caregiving. She will be remembered for saying, "I've cried a lot, but one day I won't have to cry no more". She will be truly missed and loved forever. Goodbye for now. Until we meet again. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Walker- Mt. Healthy Chapel, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy, Ohio (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment is in Vine Street Hill Cemetery at Cincinnati, Ohio.
