Muriel Last (Franklin) White, aka "Murl", was born into the world on June 12, 1961, to Evelyn Ellison and Muncie Odell Young, who have preceded her in death. Murl left us on January 6, 2025, fighting an unexpected case of cancer with a room full of love by her side.

Murl was born in Lorain, Ohio, but was raised in the neighborhood of South Avondale. She also attended South Avondale Elementary, Sawyer Middle School, and Withrow High School. Murl received her Cosmetology license from Moeller Beauty School in 1982 while pregnant with her baby girl. Murl also attended Jerriel Baptist Church.

Murl was very outgoing during her young adult years. She spent a lot of her time at the Royal Skating Rink in Evanston. She also loved to do hair, dance, run track, and play softball. Murl was definitely a family person; she loved throwing family parties, playing, pokeno, and bingo was her thang.

Murl received certifications in construction, welding, and landscaping. She worked for multiple companies using her certificates, but the main company was Kroger, and that's when she met her long-term fiancé, Jerome, of 26 years.

Murl was a loving fiancée, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her mom and dad; her siblings, Gloria Hayes, Annastisia Forte, and Sandra White; two brothers-in-law, Reginald Hayes and James Drake; son-in-law, William Davenport; and her grandson, Reico Johnson, Jr.

Murl leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Dasha (Mark) White and Danisha (William) White; her fiancé, Jerome Franklin. Her grandchildren, Yanna (Tray), Lawrence (Kay), Tyrese (Lindsey), Daemon, Jaheim, Lawrence, Jr, and Deja'Nae, her great-grandchildren, Ny'Aheir, Za'Yon, Antwon, Laurynn, Londynn, Lawrence IV, G'Kauri, G'Ahmore, and Kala'I. Her sisters, LaWonder (Donald) Smith, Diana Thompson, Evelyn (James ) Drake, and her only brother, Muncie (Ericka) Young. Murl had a great host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Murl will be truly missed because she was definitely the light of Everybody's Party.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy  (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
