Obituary

Willie Myrtle (nee Thompson) Ingram was born to Willie Mae and Nathan Thompson, Jr. on December 7, 1948, in Montgomery, Alabama. She was the second-oldest child of three. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2014, surrounded her loving family. Minnie accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church of Mt. Auburn. She later became a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. As she continued her Christian walk, she became a member of New Unity Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Mark A. Toney. She was a faithful dedicated member serving on several ministries: Youth Sunday School Teacher, Feed Hungry Program, Founder of the Recovery of Christ and Women of Excellent Bible Study. She sang in and was past president of the Mass Choir. Minnie graduated from Hughes High School in June 1967. After graduation, she was accepted at Xavier University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Minnie was ambitious and continued her education. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati a Master's Degree. Minnie was united into Holy Matrimony to the love of her life and best friend, Rev. David Ingram, Jr. They were married on September 3, 1994, at the New United Baptist Church. Rev. David Ingram lovingly referred to Minnie as his "Honey Bear". She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Rev. David Ingram, Jr.; daughter, Deene (DeJuan) Ware; son, Eric (Darlena) Philpot; sister, Helen (Robert) Bullock; brother, Jerry (Beverly) Thompson; step-children, Dwayne Ingram, Dorransier (Tony) Holloway, Delise Ingram, and Olivia Upshaw; grandchildren, Dayloen, Dylen, and evyn Ware, Saundra, Kianna, Tevin, Jasmine, Shiesha, Tyron, Mark Ashanti, and Elijah; Aunt Inell Flowers of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces, Robin (Robin) Davis, Diedra and Tisha Bullock; nephews, Lamar (Velvet)Thompson and Anthony (Christian) Brown; a host of cousins; God children that called her "Ma Ma" and Rev. David Ingram, "Pa Pa"; and adopted family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson. Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae and Nathan Thompson, Jr., son, Blaine Philpot, aunt, Geri, uncle, Willie Flowers, nephews, Robert Jr. and Kevin Bullock. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at New Unity Baptist Church, 2124 Burnett Avenue, Cincinnati (45229) with visitation from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.
