Mildred Ruth Pearson December 3, 1929 - May 27, 2016 Mildred Ruth Pearson was born to the late Otis and Eliza Lugene Clark in Claremont, North Carolina on December 3, 1929. She was the third oldest of eleven children and was educated in Catawba County Schools. Ruth, as she was known by from her youth, was a volunteer writer for The Clermont News at age 16 which she thoroughly enjoyed. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and later married the late Thomas Eddie Pearson. She later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio but has also lived in Pennsylvania and Georgia. Ruth worked for several years in housekeeping at Cincinnati Christ Hospital and retired from Manchester Nursing Home in Pennsylvania. During her life, Ruth enjoyed traveling (didn't like to fly), gardening, singing in the church choir, attending Sunday School, good old gospel singing, good preaching, working on the church kitchen committee, shopping, visiting to the Goodwill, and she loved her some Subway—tuna Subways was her favorite. Mom loved the Lord and enjoyed being a witness for Him! Her favorite scripture was the twenty-third Psalm, and she introduced all of her children to Christ at an early age. Ruth was a strong woman of prayer and faith, and it was her prayer that all her children would accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Ruth could talk about the Lord for hours, which gave her great joy which is why she became a licensed Evangelist while living in Pennsylvania. She was also a member of the Missionary Board and Eastern Star which suited her well. Mom had a gentle spirit and a willingness to help others, and she will forever be in our hearts, loved and missed. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Faith, four brothers, Ivory James Clark, William Edward Clark, Joseph Lee Clark, Otis James Clark and two sisters, Rosie Mae Russell and Dorothy Mae Freeman. Ruth leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Enoch Eli Pearson (Teresa) of Claymont DE, Kenneth Pearson of Hampton, GA, seven daughters, Vanessa Brown (William) of Greenville, GA, Michelle French (David, deceased) of Cincinnati, OH, Regina Pearson (Germah) of College Park, GA, Audrey Cartwright (Lewis) of Cincinnati, OH, Sheila Pearson of Cincinnati, OH, Monique Kennerly (Maurice) of Cincinnati, OH, and Adrienne Logan (Lee) of Hampton, GA; Fifteen grandchildren, Shaska, Shavonna, Ketha, Kendra, David, Daphine, Tiffany, Michael, Isaiah, Lauren, Malena, Marissa, Myesha, Manisha and Mica, twenty-three great grandchildren and three great, great granddaughters, two grandson in-laws, one great grandson in-law; One brother Savanah Clark of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Gladys Kennedy of Pineville, NC, Carrie McCorkle (Howard) of Newton, NC, and Genie McNair (Cleve) of Gastonia, NC. Ruth was blessed and highly favored to see five generations. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 319 Sekitan Ave., Addyston (45001). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
