Obituary - Mildred Yvonne Harper 1945 - 2015 Ms. Mildred Yvonne Harper, 70, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2015, with her family by her side. Mildred was, lovingly, known by her family and friends as Yvonne. Yvonne was born May 7, 1945 in Halifax, Virginia to Samuel and Mary Lucille Lewis. She graduated from Mary M. Bethune High School in 1963, where she excelled in her studies. Yvonne received a four-year college scholarship but turned it down and attended Durham Business College to assist her mother with the financial care of her two sisters. Yvonne had a love for family and took pride in her family's heritage. This was shown through her commitment to the upkeep of the family's farm in Virginia. Her love of and commitment to people stemmed from her accepting Christ as her savior at a young age. Yvonne served as a faithful and active member of Second Baptist Church in College Hill and volunteered her services where needed. After 25 plus years of service, Mildred Yvonne Harper retired from Proctor and Gamble in 2000. In her leisure Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. She was a truly blessed person and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Mary Lucille Lewis; Father, Samuel Lewis and Uncle, Johnny Tucker; She leaves to cherish her memory her surviving Uncle, Harold Tucker; two Sons, Eric (Krushawna), and Gary; Granddaughters, Deniesha, Dominique, Eryka, and Amber; Grandsons, Adam, Joseph, James, and Tysen; Great-grandson, Keimani; Sister, Maggie Jean (Lias); Sister, Dorothy Ann (William-late husband); Sister, Ethel; Brother, Herbert; Brother, Billy; Niece, Dawn; Nephews, Terrell, Chad, and Daryl. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on December 30, 2015 , at the Second Baptist Church - West College Hill , 6225 Betts Avenue, (45224). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
