Obituary

Michelle Allene Thompson was born on March 21, 1972, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Allen Jr. and Marcella (Jackson) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her late sister, Monica Sowels.

Michelle grew up in Springdale, Ohio. Michelle was raised by Allen and Marcella Thompson, with much help from Michelle's late grandmother, Bertha Jackson. Michelle affectionately called her grandmother, Bertha, "Granny Grunt" because her grandmother was always fussing. Bertha Jackson would spend the week in Springdale taking care of Michelle and Michelle's sister, Shanae, then take the girls back home with her to Sayler Park for the weekend. Michelle spent countless weekend and summer hours playing jump rope, hide-and-go-seek, and catching lightning bugs with her friends in Sayler Park.

During Michelle's teenage years, she could often be found in her room reading a book or watching television. She was a quiet soul who mostly kept to herself. Michelle attended Springdale Elementary School, Princeton Junior High, and Princeton High School, where she graduated in 1990. She then went on to further her education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she majored in interior design.

Michelle was extremely crafty and creative. In her spare time she made beautiful handmade flower arrangements for homes and created gift baskets. She also enjoyed watching “Touched by an Angel” and “Highway to Heaven”, listening to gospel music, reading her Bible, and spending time with her nephew, Tristan Sallie, who was truly her pride and joy.

Michelle had a beautiful, pure heart. She always extended love to those around her and anyone in need. She was always ready to serve and lend a helping hand. Michelle was often there to help care for her nieces and nephews. As a woman of God, Michelle believed in turning the other cheek and trusting God to handle things according to His will. When her parents fell ill, she selflessly cared for them without complaint, simply doing what needed to be done.

To cherish her memories, Michelle leaves behind her brothers, Arthur Willis and Rodney Plesinger; her sisters, Kim Sowels, Tammie Sowels, and Shanae Thompson; her nephews, Keith Willis, Jarrell (Jacqueline) Sowels, Chris Sowels, Nathan (Aushiana) Sowels, Rayshawn Plesinger, Kingston Plesinger, and Rashad Plesinger; her nieces, Kisha Willis, Nateya Sowels, Amber Sallie, Tiara Sowels, Alexis Henry, JuLeah Henry, Kailah Plesinger, and Riane Plesinger

She also leaves behind her great-nephews, Tristan Sallie, Khalel Sowels, Noah Sowels, and Donald Sallie; her great-nieces, Payton Lampkin, Anova Sowels, Anyla Sowels, and Natalia Sowels; along with a host of other family and friends who will forever cherish her memories.
