Michael grew up in the harsh, deprived environment of Leningrad USSR in the 1950s and 1960s, living in a decaying apartment where 31 residents cohabited in space meant for one family. Michael studied to be a dentist in Leningrad USSR but he did poorly at his studies. When he was 23 years old (1979) he and his family emigrating from St Petersburg Russia to the USA. Both Michael and Ellen were naturalized in 1983. In 7 years Michael rose from a janitor to Stock Broker (1986). He was married to Ellen Rubashkin Prozumenshikov (born in Leningrad USSR about 16 July 1957). Emigration date unknown. She graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1980. They had two sons.
