IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael A.
Clark Sr.
November 5, 1954 – November 16, 2013
Michael Aaron Clark Sr. was born on November 5, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Mary E. (nee Pettis) Kimbrough and Milton L. Kimbrough Sr. He grew up in the Steele Subdivision, now referred to as 'The Sub' in West College Hill and graduated from North College Hill Sr. High School in 1974. Mike continued his education at Montana State University on a football scholarship and later attended Wilmington College. Mike was baptized on August 25, 1963 at First Baptist Church of West College Hill and remained a member until recently when he joined Immanuel Baptist Church. On July 3, 1982, Mike was united in marriage to Stephanie Rone. To this union was born three sons, Michael Aaron II, Marque Alan, and Myles Andre'. Mike was a devoted father and family man, always taking an active role in his sons' lives, grilling for all the holidays, family functions, and church events. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball with his sons and playing softball with his brothers and nephews. He was extremely close to all of his siblings and would do anything for them. He did whatever he needed to do to take care of his family. He loved to dance and was always the life of the party. Mike was a very generous person. He would give you the shirt off his back, feed you, and then make you laugh until you cried. He worked at Emery Oleochemicals for 35 years as a mechanic and a chemical operator and was always there to put in an extra effort because that was the type of man he was. In addition to his day job, Mike was a handyman. He considered himself a jack of all trades, master of none. He would stop and help a stranger on the street, change a tire, fix a leaking faucet, lay carpet, or cater a party with his famous ribs and barbeque sauce. There was no such thing as junk to Mike because he would collect things that people may need someday, even if he didn't find anyone who could use it for 10 years. 'You don't understand', he would always say. He believed in helping people in any way he could. Mike transitioned from this life on the afternoon of Saturday, November 16, 2013 surrounded by his family after reaching up and squeezing Stephanie's hand to say goodbye. Preceding him in death were his parents, Milton & Mary Kimbrough; one brother, John Clark; one sister, Frances Carole Kimbrough; and his father-in-law, Joel Rone. Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory are his soul mate and loving, devoted wife, Stephanie; his three sons, Michael II, Marque, and Myles; four brothers, Edward (Tiffany) Clark, Ronald (Mary) Clark, Milton (Sarah) Kimbrough, of Germantown, MD, and Derek Kimbrough Sr.; godbrother, Sam Taylor; five sisters, Diane Reynolds, Brenda (Ellison) Lewis, Wendy Clark, Shirl Lucas, and Dorothea Kimbrough; three grandchildren, Austin, Shaylen, and Satavea; three brothers-in-law, Chahn (Erlynn) Chess, Tim Chess, and Gerald Chess; mother-in-law, Shirley Rone; stepmother-in-law, Bonnie Rone; a host of nieces and nephews; best friend, Alvin (Edith) Jones; longtime friend, Jerry Jones; co-worker and friend, Mitch Caddell; and many, many, friends, neighbors. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at The First Baptist Church of West College Hill, 6210 Betts Avenue, North College Hill (45224). A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the our of service. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
