Obituary

Meti (Workinesh) Nemera was born to her father, Beyene Nemera, and her mother, Ararae Dinssa on December 12, 1979. She was born and grew up in western Ethiopia of Oromia regional state, Horro Guduru Wellega, in a town called Fincha'a.

Meti had finished her elementary education in the place where she was born and attended Shambu Senior Secondary High School and graduated in 1998. In 1999, she had successfully trained to be a teacher for an elementary school in Asalla, Ethiopia. Meti was working as a teacher for eight years around the same place where she grew up. While she was working as a teacher, she left her birthplace and moved to the United States in December of 2007 pursuing a better opportunity. Meti worked in various places with different positions here in America to financially support her families here and back home.

Meti accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord of her life on August 25, 1995. She loved God and served in her churches at different capacity back home and here from the time She knew Jesus to the time of her passing away. Her unwavering commitment and dedication towards her faith will remain to be a model for all of us.

Meti passed away Wednesday on December 9, 2020, at 2:30 PM at Mercy West hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio after a prolonged treatment. During her treatment, she has never neglected to persistently pray for healing. But the will of God prevailed and now she is under His bosom. She is survived by her husband Feyisa Melka; daughter Niyanna; son Hawera; brothers: Yirgu and Dessalegn; sisters: Alemtsehay and Kenna; and her many nephews and nieces. Meti is also missed by her mother, eight other siblings, and all of her friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Meti was naturally a very friendly, helpful, and happy person. She grew up in the church and loved God throughout her entire life. Her life exemplified her favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13 – "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Meti is remembered always for her love for her family, for her passion for her children, and for her genuine faith in God.
