IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melissa Louise
Edwards
July 26, 1970 – January 4, 2026
On July 26, 1970, God sent a beautiful life into the earth and on January 4, 2026, Melissa Louise Edwards (Morgan), lovingly known as Missy went home peacefully to be with the Lord at home in North College Hill, Ohio at the age of 55. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Theresa Louise Morgan and the late Joseph Edward Morgan Sr.
Missy was a woman of empathy and love for all people she crossed paths with, and even more so for her family. We find comfort in the fact that her last moments were spent in the sanctuary of her home, surrounded by the memories of the beautiful life she had built. Missy was the glue to the family, always supporting, loving and extending a helping hand to all who loved her.
Missy graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1988. On July 3, 1994, Missy was blessed with two beautiful twin baby girls, Zhan'e Alexandria Hopgood and Zaire Alexis Hopgood. Four years later on January 17, 1998, she was blessed with her one and only son, Corey Lee Hopgood. In 2000, she met the love of her life, Kelvin Lee Edwards. On November 25, 2001, Missy and Kelvin brought into the world their first beautiful daughter together, Tina Tre'Nae Edwards and following her on October 27th, 2004, they brought in another beautiful daughter, Kyra Lenae Edwards. January 1, 2015 was the day Missy tied the knot and married the love of her life, Kelvin. Missy and Kelvin spent the following 10 years raising and guiding their kids before being blessed on March 7, 2025 with their first beautiful granddaughter, Zori Love Hopgood.
Missy was a very hard-working woman. Throughout her life Missy worked in various manufacturing and production roles throughout Proctor and Gamble and Standard Textile with her final role being production at Kellanova, previously known as Kellogg Company.
Missy met many friends throughout her 15 years at Kellanova. Missy was apart of the BCTGM International Union Local 57 . During the Covid-19 pandemic, Missy started a new hobby making masks, shirts, and other custom items. She later registered it as a business and began working under Missy's Merch. In 2024, Missy became a Notary Public for the state of Ohio.
Missy had a multitude of hobbies including spending time with her husband, kids, and granddaughter, watching TV, playing with her dogs, hanging out with her friends, and shopping. Missy spent a lot of time with her grandaughter, Zori, and was excited to plan her first birthday.
Missy is predeceased by her father, Joseph Edwards Morgan, and her Uncle, David Morgan.
Missy is survived by her devoted husband, Kelvin Lee Edwards; her five beloved children, Zhan'e Alexandria Hopgood, Zaire Alexis Hopgood, Corey Lee Hopgood, Tina Tre'Nae Edwards, Kyra Lenae Edwards; her beautiful granddaughter, Zori Love Hopgood; her mother Theresa Louise Morgan; her aunts, Joyce Morgan, Carol Jones, and Lois Mullikin; her uncles, Terry Morgan, and Mark Morgan; her dogs Remy, Gucci, and Jeezy; her siblings Joseph Morgan Jr. and Regina Price; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. Though her time here with us was far too short, she will continue to live on through the memories and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
