Maxie Lewis Hatcher was born October 3, 1933 in Selma, Alabama. He was the first child of three born to Mary [nee Vincent] and Briscoe Hatcher. Maxie fell asleep in death on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the age of 84.

As a devoted Southern Baptist, Maxie wholeheartedly believed in the Bible's promise recorded at John 5:28, 29: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in

Throughout his life, Maxie often displayed a persona that drew people to him. Maxie amused those who knew him by his candor and points of view regarding current events. He was also known for routinely sending small gifts to family and friends on their birthdays. It was these qualities and actions that endeared many to him.

Maxie was always a hard worker and strong community advocate. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union #44, the NRA, and in the past, served on his neighborhood community board.

Maxie is preceded in death by his daughter Olivia, and grand daughter, Ann-Marie. He also leaves many to cherish his memory while awaiting the resurrection: his children Rheta, Glenn, Marvin, Maxine, Gregory, and step-children  Bryan, Johnny, and Jacqueline; ex-wife Annie; sisters Hattie and Gussie; brother-in-laws Lamar and Nygrille; nieces Rhonda, Linda, and Sandra; nephews Daryl, Ronald, and Reginald; with other family and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment Spring Grove Cemetery.
