Mattie Mae Hill age 99 was born on July 13, 1922 in Camden Alabama and passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022. She was the second of 5 born children born to the late David Sr and Hanna (Stallworth) Hill. She is preceded in death by 4 brothers: Frank, David Jr., Percy and Fred Hill.

Mattie came to Cincinnati at the age of 4 and attended grade school at Holy Trinity and Harriet Beecher Stowe School and the McDonald High School.  She later completed one year of college at St Xavier University.

Mattie employed by General Hospital which today is known as UC Health and worked as a Ward Clerk later to be called a Unit Coordinator on 6 South.  She retired with over 30 years of service.

Mattie also attended the Poirot School of Beauty Culture to become a beautician and hair stylist. She was very talented and won many awards and trophies for hair design.  Mattie was so successful at hair design that she was commissioned by Johnson and Johnson Products to be a spokesperson for a line of hair care products which she introduced and sold covering parts of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

Mattie could do almost anything she put her mind to.  An exquisite and fashionable seamstress, she would spend hours downtown shopping and getting ideas for fashions to come home and make.  Today she recognized as an Associate member of the Sisters of Mercy and she will be truly missed.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memory, her niece and caregiver Deborah Hill, special cherished friends Sr Victoria Vondenberger RSM, Tom Luttmer and David Abad, a great team of caring and kind Aides and the family of Mercy Neighborhood Ministries., her Parish family of St. Francis de Sales, along with a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, March 4, 2022, at the St. Francis DeSales Church, 1600 Madison Road, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemtery.
