IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mattie Mae
Bolden
July 26, 1926 – June 20, 2016
Mrs. Mattie Mae Bolden, affectionately known as "Mom, Granny, Grandma, Sister, Aunt Mattie", was the daughter of the late Albert Dawson, Sr., and Mattie Carter Dawson. She departed her earthly residence on June 20, 2016, at 12:45 p.m. Mattie's family was present at her bedside until her final breath, at which time she joined her Heavenly Father. Mattie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 26, 1926 at the General Hospital, now known as the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Elmer Bolden. Mattie's brothers, the late Albert Jr. and the late Robert Grant Dawson, also preceded her in death. At an early age, Mattie accepted Christ and professed her love for Him. She united with Second Trinity Baptist Church in 1991 and until her death, faithfully served on the missionary board and "Willing Worker" committee as well as other auxiliaries. Mattie's vibrant personality lit up every venue she entered. She will always been known as "the life of the party". She loved her family dearly and believed in spending time together. Mattie was an excellent cook. No dinner was complete without her "famous Cream of Wheat cornbread, homemade ice-cream and stewed chicken and rice". She possessed a contagious laugh and her personality surely left an impression upon everyone she met. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Delana A.
