Mary Helen Rankin-Butler- Reed January 7, 1933 - November 30, 2022

We are sad to announce the passing of Mary Helen Rankin Butler Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Mary died at the age of 89 on November 30, 2022.  She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home.  Mary was born on January 7, 1933 in Ripley, Ohio.  She was the daughter of Doll and Emma Rankin and grew up in the town of Seaman, Ohio in Adams County.  Mary attended Central State University in Xenia, Ohio where she received a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education in 1953. In 1967, she received a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati.  Mary taught for over 30 years as a teacher in the Cincinnati Public Schools.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Metts and her brothers, Fred Rankin, Wendell Rankin, George Rankin, Kenneth Rankin, Raymond Rankin and John Rankin.  She is survived by her three children, David S. Butler, Valerie F. Butler and Julie R. Graham, as well as her two grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Graham and one great-granddaughter, Skye Graham.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH OF WALNUT HILLS, 2712 Alms Place, Cincinnati   (45206)  The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery, Ohio.
