Mary Elizabeth Miles, age 78, passed away December 20, 2013. She was born May 3, 1935. Funeral Services will be conducted at 9:30am, Monday, December 30 at Brown Chapel AME Church, 2804 Alms Place, Walnut HIlls (45206). Visitation 8:30am until 9:30am. Interment Walnut Hills Cemetery. Our beloved, Mary Elizabeth Miles (Campbell) was born on May 3, 1935 to the union of Allie C. and Andrina Campbell in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mary departed this earthly life to Glory on Friday, December 20, 2013. Mary Miles, affectionately known by many as "Pops", loved her family and devoted all her time and kindness to everyone who met her. "Pops" favorite hobbies were going to Bingo, being with family, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and going out to eat. She loved to listen to music and cook, and would coach Latawanda from her bed how to cook her food. Mary grew up going to public school, enjoying life with her sisters and brother in Downtown and O'Bryonsville. She also was baptized at an early age and her favorite scripture is the Lord's Prayer. Mary was employed at the University of Cincinnati, Food Service Division until her retirement in 1997. Mary leaves to cherish her legacy: her children, Latawanda Short (Lamont), Jeanette "Belle" Terry (Skip), Diane Brown (Paul), Stephanie Short (Roy) and Daryl Miles. Her beloved and only sister, Malinda Early; cousin Oscar Armstrong, Sr.; grandchildren, Lawson Terry III, Kinesha Miles, Damon Short, Anton Ceaser, Daniel Terry, Danielle Short, Darylena Miles, Paul Brown, Jr., Kayla Terry, Lauren Cauther, Kimani Smith and Dominique Brown; 23 great-grandchildren and her special daughter-in-law, Dia L. McGee & Family. Mary was extremely loved and admired by a host of many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is now happy in heaven with her sisters, Jeanette Campbell, Burnetta Hall, Delia Campbell and Carrie Bell Stanfield; one brother, Willie Campbell; along with taking care of her grandson, Raymond Short and two great-grandchildren, LeMeka Miles and Tyrese Short
