Mary Magdalene Hall (Parker), a daughter given by the Lord to Lester and Viola (Mills) Parker, was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The family with their five children (Daniel, John, James, Lydia, and Mary) settled in Alcoa, Tennessee, after briefly living in North Carolina. Mary died at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio of heart failure. The span of her earthly pilgrimage was 86 years In the year or so prior to her passing, she had expressed to her family members and close friends her desire to fulfill her destiny and go Home to be with the Lord. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever with the Savior she faithfully served for nearly 65 years. She was married to Edward Brown who preceded her in death, to that union was born one daughter, Pamela and the couple divorced after several years. Later she married Richard Hall, who had two adult children, Richard Jr. and Norma Jean from a previous marriage. The couple and their children came together as a family. Richard preceded his wife in death, and afterward Mary never remarried. Surviving are, daughter, Pamela Anderson-Rayford (Jeffery), of Cincinnati, OH; her ten grandchildren, Michael Rene' Johnson (Guy) of St. Louis, MO, and Michael Gregory Anderson Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Arthur Miles, Ricky Miles (deceased), Carey Miles, Donna Conyers, Linda Miles (James), Mary Michelle Jimmar (Don), and John Miles (Lisha), all of Cincinnati, OH. Mary is also remembered and loved by 23 great-grandchildren. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death. On today, her remaining nieces, nephew, family members and friends have traveled from near and far to celebrate the life of their loved one. Mary was an employee of The University of Cincinnati, where she retired as an Ohio Safety Officer after a long career. Mary enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, keeping up with current events, cooking, and reading her Bible. Her quick witted humor kept everyone on their toes as you never knew what comment she would make next. Mary was a member of the Progressive Baptist Church where she loved to worship, praise and study. She was committed to her church family and loved to dress elegantly to attend service. The Church was a major focus of her life and in the Body of Christ, she served faithfully and displayed the Christian graces which today so richly bless our memories. To us all 'Mama' was special because she made everyone around her feel especially loved. Mary M. Hall, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
