Samuels was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 10, 1956. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. He was the youngest of four children, two of which were born to the late Gillie and Marcella Samuels. Martin attended Woodward High School. He loved to cook, play basketball and chess. Wherever Martin went, he was the life of the party. Martin as a loving, caring father, grandfather, brother and friend. Martin came from a very close knit and loving family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Martin leaves to celebrate his life: a brother, William Samuels; a sister, Helen Weathers-Sipe; three children, Demetrius Thompson, Keisha Hobbs and Natassia (Jermaine) Kaiser; eight grandchildren, special friends Teresa and Peggy; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, and sibling, Homer Weathers, Jr. Martin will be remembered with dignity, pride and abiding love. He is now at peace and free of pain.
