IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Lee
Crutchfield
August 29, 1929 – August 5, 2016
Martha Lee Crutchfield was born on August 21, 1929, in Selma, Alabama, to the late Lottie Belle Cummins and General Lee Jackson. Martha grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she raised three boys, Robert, Richard, and Reggie Jackson. Later she met and married her husband, Webster Carlson Crutchfield. During the union, she conceived two daughters, Rose and Kathy, and obtained a step-daughter Darlene. She departed this life on August 5, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Webster Carson Crutchfield, brother, Peter Jackson, sister, Sylvia Jackson, and twin sister, Mary Webb, son, Richard Jackson, and step-daughter, Darlene Sands. Martha worked several jobs. She was a housekeeper at the Jewish Hospital, a waitress at the local restaurant, and toward the end of her work history, she worked cleaning offices until her retirement. She enjoyed watching her 'Stories': 'The Young and the Restless', 'One Life to Live', 'All My Children', and the News. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Everyone who knew her knew that she was a no-nonsense type of person. She said what she meant and meant what she said. She had a sense of humor. She enjoyed making her grandchildren laugh. She would help anyone who needed her help, and if you came to Martha's house, you would have plenty of good food to eat and a warm place to stay. She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Robert Jackson, Sr., and his wife, Monica, Reggie Jackson, and his wife, Carey, daughters, Rose Hall and Kathy Leggett, son-in-law, Robert Sands aka Speed (husband of Darlene) and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the West Cincinnati Presbyterian Church, 1708 Baymiller Street , Cincinnati (45214).
