Obituary for Markeisha Sneed
Markeisha Sneed, a woman of unyielding strength, love, and resilience, passed away, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Born on November 27, 1989, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jane Smith and Marcus Sneed, Markeisha's life was one of perseverance, unwavering determination, and an unbreakable bond with her family.
As a young mother raising six children on her own, Markeisha's journey was not without challenges, but she faced every obstacle with grace and strength. Her fierce love for her family and her determination to provide for them were the foundation of her life. Her fierce spirit, as stubborn as a bull, helped her navigate life's highs and lows with relentless courage.
Markeisha's talents extended far beyond her role as a mother. Known for her love of music, particularly rap, she earned the nickname "Ms. Red" through her vibrant participation in rap battles. Her dancing skills were equally impressive, and she often lit up any room she entered with her infectious smile and gap-toothed grin. Whether dancing to reggae or rapping to old-school tracks, her spirit was one of joy, laughter, and life.
Markeisha's role as a mother was central to who she was. She fought tirelessly for her children, providing them with love, guidance, and unwavering support. Her greatest joy came when she became a grandmother, and she embraced this new chapter with all the love and happiness it brought into her life.
Markeisha leaves behind a loving family that will carry her memory forward. She is survived by her mother, Jane Acoff, and father, Marcus Sneed; her sister, Shalee Smith, and brother, Demarco Smith; half-siblings Keyshia Palmer, Pierre Sneed, and Marcus Sneed Jr.; her six children—Kanisha Sneed, Shariyah Sneed, Dashawnti Pitts, Camorion Pitts, Dariuana Ferguson, and Darinia Ferguson—who were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Jade Gibson. Her extended family includes nephews De'Aries Taylor Jr., Antonio Smith Sr., Kalin Fields, Ca'Ron Bradley, Demarco Smith Jr., De'Myan Smith, De'Mylan Smith, nieces De'Mira Smith, De'Moni Smith, De'Marci Smith, and Demi Smith, as well as four great-nephews and one great-niece. She is also survived by uncles Kenneth Smith Sr., Allen "Ren Ren" Smith, Jonathan "Head" Sneed, Darryl Sneed, Latrell Sneed, and Warren Sneed and aunt Gladys Smith.
Markeisha is now reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death: her grandmother, Minnie Sneed; her younger brother, DeAndre Smith; her son, Darrin Ferguson III, and his father, Darrin Ferguson Jr.; her uncles Jeffery Williams, Willie Thompson, Daryl "Meaty Red" Smith, Fred Smith, Clarence Smith; and her aunt Gracie Smith.
Though Markeisha is no longer with us in body, her legacy of strength, love, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be forever missed and always remembered.
Rest in peace, baby sister. Your love and light will continue to shine through your family and friends.
