Marilyn Shelia Flynn, devoted youngest daughter of the late Russell G. Flynn and the late Helen M. Flynn (Kiefel); dear niece of the late Dolores H. Mackzum (Flynn); beloved sister of Kathleen Orth (Flynn). Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friday, February 5, 2016; 78 years old. Preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Flynn. Marilyn was born April 12, 1937, and grew up in Norwood, OH. She was a graduate of Xavier University and taught elementary schoolchildren in both Catholic and Public school districts locally her entire career. She was deeply involved in the Junior Zoologists Club (JZC's) at the Cincinnati Zoo, and made numerous trips, domestic and international, with the club. She remained a volunteer at the Zoo for many years. Marilyn was a past President (1981-1983) of the Marine Corps Ladies Auxiliary Montezuma Unit, and was a member of the Buford Homemakers Club in Brown County, Ohio. She was devoted in her faith, and to her mother Helen, all her life. She taught Sunday School and was an avid birdwatcher who dearly loved travel and nature, children and animals, camping and crafting, and all of her wonderful friends. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at St. Veronica Church, 4473 Mt. Carmel-Tobasco Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45244. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Veronica Church or to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati OH, 45242.
