Margo Lee Thompson June 2, 1945 - December 29, 2023

Margo Lee Brown was born in Covington, Kentucky, on June 2, 1945 to the union of Raymond Lee and Elizabeth May Brown. She was the eldest of three children.  She accepted Christ at an early age at Ninth Street Baptist Church.  Margo graduated from William Grant High School in 1961.  On November 19, 1963 she married Howard D. Thompson, Sr., and they had four children.

In her early career, Margo worked many years at Family Planning Clinic, where she had the opportunity to travel. She also worked as a Nurses Aide for a number of years.  Margo worked for the Internal Revenue Service, where she spent her entire IRS career in the Receipt and Control's extracting department.  She received a Certificate of Recognition for outstanding performance, as manager in RCO, during 2009 Filing Season.  She retired June 30, 2011, after 22 years of service. Upon retirement, she received the Albert Gallatin Award from the United States Department of the Treasury.

With her sassiness and eclectic fashion, in her travels, she collected and created pieces of clothing and jewelry to match her unique style.  She was known to be the life of the party and she wasn't afraid to get on the dance floor and get the party started. She was loved by many and never met a stranger.

Margo was preceded in death by her first born son, Howard, Jr. (Peter).  They left this earthly life on the same date, 12/29, just two years apart.

Margo leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, Candra, J. Michael and Alona Johnson (Virgil); 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home - Northern Kentucky, 1129 Garrard Street, Covington  (41011).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
