Margaretta Reese-Sartor was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 14, 1952. She peacefully departed this life on June 1, 2025, at the age of 72.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sartor; daughter, Leonetta Jackson; beloved parents, Helen and Luther Reese; brothers, Gary and Gregory Reese; and three sisters, Darnetta Greer, Ann Huff, and Lucy Burgess.

Margaretta was raised in Lincoln Heights and was a proud graduate of the Lincoln Heights High School Class of 1971. She worked for many years at Mr. Kelley's (also known as Bonnavilla) and later at Mitsubishi. Most recently, she served her community as a dedicated bus driver for Winton Woods City Schools.

In her younger years, Margaretta shared her love for music as a member of the Harvey Singers, touching many hearts with her voice. Margaretta had a vibrant and joyful spirit that touched everyone around her. She loved to travel and explore new places, often bringing back stories that would light up a room. She also enjoyed dancing and never missed a beat when the music played, especially when it came to Mary J. Blige. One of her favorite memories was hosting her own "Mary J concert" right from her sleek all-black Jaguar, where she'd sing her heart out like she was on stage. More than anything, she cherished spending time with her family, creating laughter, memories, and moments of deep connection that will be forever remembered.

Margaretta leaves to cherish her memory: her grandsons, Michael Jakobie Bryant and Dominique Shirley; great-grandson, Malachi; granddaughters, Shauna, Sharmane, and Shamore; their mother, Susan Sartor; and Susan's brothers, Kenneth and Shawn Sartor. She also leaves behind her brothers, William "P.P." Johnson, William Reese, Jerry (Filetha), and Kenneth Reese; sisters, Marianetta (Robert) Saunders and Martressa Reese-Gaston; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 9991 Wayne Ave, Woodlawn  (45215).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246.
