Margaret
Hillman
August 28, 1933 — August 9, 2026
Cincinnati, OH
Margaret A. Bonner-Hillman lived her 92 years with a simple but powerful devotion: she worked hard, and she loved her family even harder. A lifelong Cincinnati resident, Margaret built her life around family, faith, and the values that carried her through more than nine decades.
Margaret was born on Monday, August 28, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Sarah Wyatt and Ellis Bonner. The youngest of her siblings, she was born and raised in Cincinnati and remained deeply rooted in the city throughout her entire life.
Margaret attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Withrow High School. Throughout her working years, she was employed as a household technician. She approached her responsibilities with dedication and a strong work ethic, qualities that became an important part of the example she set for those around her.
Margaret was united in marriage to James Edward Hillman Sr., with whom she shared her life and family until his passing. Above all else, family held a special place in Margaret's heart. She loved deeply and took great pride in the generations that followed her. Her long life allowed her the special blessing of seeing her family grow to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Her faith was also an important part of her life. Margaret was a member of Second Baptist Church of Madisonville, where she maintained a connection to her church and spiritual community.
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Margaret peacefully departed this life of natural causes at Arc of Cincinnati Nursing Facility. She was 92 years old.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James E. Hillman Sr.; her son, James E. Hillman Jr.; her parents, Sarah Wyatt and Ellis Bonner; and all of her siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory Karen Ann Hillman and Deborah Ann Bonner-Starr, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, church family, and friends.
Margaret's 92 years tell the story of a Cincinnati woman who remained rooted in home, family, faith, and hard work. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she poured into her family continues through the many generations who carry her memory forward.
She will be laid to rest at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
