She was the second oldest daughter of ten children born to Author and Rudy (Johnson) Smith. Margaret's husband preceded her in death, Willie James Brown, Sr. In her early years, Margaret attended Central High School. Margaret was a homemaker and worked at Hostess Bakery for 20 years to raise her five children. She was a devoted mother. Margaret loved going to different churches with her friends and praising the Lord. Margaret loved to cook and she enjoyed sewing. "Margreen" was known for her delicious meals and her hospitality to all who came to her house. Margaret leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Debra (Brown) Calloway, Victoria (Brown) Jackson, Terri Brown, Linda Brown, and one son Willie James Brown, Jr., a host of grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
