IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marche'
Johnson
July 20, 1960 – November 7, 2015
Celebrating the Life & Spirit of March Johnson March Johnson was born Wednesday, July 20th, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio at General Hospital (now University Hospital) to the delight and joy of her parents, Mary Elizabeth and Frank Johnson. Though she enjoyed her brief time as an only child, she was ecstatic when her lovely sister, Donna Jean, joined the family soon after and they were inseparable until her final days. Years later, she would embrace Aleisha, the sister whom her mother adopted and cared for in her later days and relish the fact that she and her eldest grandson, Kyran, shared a special birthday bond. She was a lifelong Cincinnati resident, growing up in the Village of Glendale, attending Princeton High School and settling in Forest Park where she made a beautiful home with the love of her life, Daryl. She came to know the Lord at an early age and in recent years joined Inspirational Baptist Church, City of Destiny, to fellowship and learn with other believers in Christ. Her door was always open to those in need of rest, of comfort or a good laugh and she extended that invitation often as she believed that as it says in Hebrews 13:2, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." In her professional life, she worked at Kenner Toys (now Hasbro) much to the delight of her daughters, Takietha and Lakrisha, who had more CareBears and Strawberry Shortcake toys than any little girl could ever want. Later, she worked at International Paper and finally at Winton Woods City Schools until her early retirement this year. She felt blessed to be able to work with children, to be the reliable, smiling driver getting them safely on their way. March was an avid reader and introduced the love of books and the joy of reading to her children. Oftentimes, they could all be found in their separate corners of the house, engrossed in old favorites from Toni Morrison or the latest tome from Terry McMillan, coming together to discuss and trade books. She was a master crocheter with pieces so beautifully wrought by hand that they looked like they should be sold in stores. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and enjoying time outdoors where she could surround herself with some of God's most simple and beautiful creations and ride bikes or walk with her grandchildren. March Johnson was a true believer in Christ and the Word and departed this life with these words in her heart: All is well, in Jesus' name. As a mother, a wife, a sister and a friend, she actively worshipped The Most High by serving others and enjoying the life she was given with the people she loved the most. March delighted in giving gifts as much as receiving them and in celebrating family and holidays with laughter, plenty of food and good music. March was truly a Proverbs 31 wife, making a home for her family and providing warmth, comfort and security to her husband. Her grace, humanity and charity were an extension of her love of Christ and the love that he has for us. She provided for those in need and lent an ear, a shoulder and open heart to those who sought her counsel. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. "(Proverbs 31:10-31) March was preceded in death by her generous and loving parents, Frank and Mary Elizabeth Johnson (ne Chandler) who taught her the value of hard work and the importance of unconditional love. A wealth of aunts, uncles and cousins welcomed her with laughter and open arms as she made the transition to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 7th, 2015 after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband, Daryl Johnson, her two adult daughters, Takietha Lesha, and Lakrisha Roshelle (Curtis) Tinner, her sisters Donna Jean (Vincent) Curry and Aleisha Stevens-Johnson, her grandchildren Niyahbinghi, Kyran and Kedan, her nieces Donial and Vivian (Xavier, I'Yoshua, Paul and Jayden) and her cousins Brenda (Will) Jones and Vivian Brunson. A host of cousins and friends who were family to her will delight in her memory and the good times that they've shared together. Visitation is from 10:30 am until 11:30 am, on November 14, 2015, at the Word of Deliverance Ministries for the World, 11331 Southland Blvd (45240). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:30am. Dr. Victor S. Couzens, officiating. Interment will follow Oak Hill Cemetery in Springdale, Ohio. Pallbearers: JaBree Jones, Curtis Tinner, CaRon Jones, Scott (Judah) White, Brandin Brunson, Colin Moore. You may express online condolences at www.HerbWalker.com. Walker Funeral Home of Cincinnati is serving the Johnson family.
