He grew up as a military child and started his life in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marcellus gave himself to Christ at the young age of ten, and was a member of the Kaiserslautern Military Church of God at Ramstein Air Base Germany. Marcellus also started his love of sports there as well. During his school years, he was selected for the President Bush Award for high academic and Who's Who of America for French in the 10th grade. Marcellus completed his last years of school at Brooks High in Killen, Alabama. In his senior year of high school, he was selected for the Big Orange Award which represents Best Sportsmanship in Football. Before and after graduating, he was offered several scholarships for both academics and sports. Marcellus hoped one day to study financial management and math. Marcellus was well liked in the community and had many friends. He was very compassionate about sports and people. He never met a stranger. He had a love for astronomy and little league baseball books. Marcellus was also considered a leader by many of his teachers, coaches and friends. Marcellus leaves behind to cherish his memory: his parents, Ronald and Pilar Smith; his twin brother, Markus Smith; his older brother, Michael Smith. Marcellus also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
