Mae Lee Brown (Sister Kidd) age 94, of Cincinnati OH, was called to her heavenly home on September 29, 2026. was born on July 23, 1932 to Silas Brown and Rosalee Billins in Unadilla GA. She was the second of seven siblings: Angel Roney (Coojack), Mary and Martha (the twins), Ella Mae (Poola) and Roscoe, predeceased. Survived by, Annie Ruth (Duck) Grant of Florida and Rosie Mae Bryant (The Baby) of Georgia. Mae Lee was the mother of four children, Willie J Brown, preceded in death and is survived by Vivian D Brown, Mary N. Brown and Richard Kidd. Sister Kidd has eight grandchildren: Shanell, Tonya, Ronise, Juana, Spencer, Kaleb, Zion (four great children—names are unknown) and Samuel; three great grandsons--Tavion, Tristan and Joshua, two great granddaughters—Kamari and Kamya and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances not to mention the dog (tina turner).

Mae Lee gave her life to Christ at an early age as well as become a mom to her siblings due to her mother passing after a long illness when Mae was 15 years of age. Mae was also a caregiver. Mae finished raising her younger siblings which ranged in ages two, five, seven, nine and thirteen. Mae cooked and worked to earn money to support her brother and sisters. She always sought the advice of the older mothers in the community and always tried her best and would always say "I can do everything, but drive a car, but I know how to milk a cow". She would make fresh butter and give it to her neighbors.

Mae Lee (Sis. Kidd) was a faithful member of the Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for 48 years. She liked to be on time for service and Sunday school--ALWAYS be on time--that was a pet peeve of hers.

She liked to cook "good food", was known for the all butter, cream cheese pound cake she baked and preferred to "cook from scratch" (a trait she passed down to her own children).

Mae Lee would take her children on vacation every summer (usually to visit her relatives in the south) and they learned how to "rough" it, they picked, shelled vegetables, saw how it was stored for the Winter, saw family, neighbors and friends come together to slaughter livestock and get acquainted with the "out house". This was her way of keeping in touch with her sisters their families, her past, and it was a good lesson of work ethics for her children (even though they didn't see this as a helpful side of the vacation initially). “Don’t spend every dime you make quick as you get it” she would always tell us which is how she was able to take us on vacations to her hometown annually.

Mae Lee worked as a private family household technician (maid) for multiple families and went to work in rain, sleet and snow to provide for her family. She became a single mother who always kept a roof over her children's head, food in their mouth and clothes on their backs (in most cases the latest fashions.

Mae only had a third grade education due to being thrust into adulthood at such an early age, but she had “mother’s wit”

Mom, sister, grandma will be greatly missed but not forgotten and we thank for the time she was here with us showing the way to becoming better. Bye Ma.
