Madlyn (Rencher) Evans was born on April 15, 1935, in Wyoming, Ohio to the late Napoleon S. Rencher and Lillian (Roseberry) Rencher-McGuire. She was the second of five children born to this union. Madlyn departed this life on December 31, 2020, at the age of 85.
She attended Wyoming School District in the city of Wyoming, Ohio, and graduated from Wyoming High School in 1953. She furthered her education at The Ohio State University on an academic scholarship. Education was a passion of hers throughout her life.
She was a facilitator in the family's construction businesses as well as an educator of arts to her family.
Madlyn married Morris H.Roebuck Sr. From that union, they had eight children: Morris (Bino) H. Roebuck Jr. (Gail), Ronald D. Roebuck, Shayne M. Roebuck, Dru B. Roebuck, De'Vonne C. Green,(Billy), Jeanna M. Eberhart,(Maurice), William (Roe) E. Roebuck ll (Monica), Audrey M.Banks (Travis)
Her professional career consisted of a plethora of positions. From Licensed Insurance Agent to her role as a Social Services Director in Geriatrics, from which she retired. In retirement, she received additional training and advocated for philanthropic work. She became highly proficient in grant writing and talent acquisition. She served as a vice-chair to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She was also a founding member of M.A.C. She was a proponent of the arts. She was most notably recognized for her work with the Cincinnati Jazz Festival at the former Crosley Field and the Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, Rhode Island.
She was baptized January 13, 2001, in The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She leaves memories of her attentive, uplifting, and outgoing personality. She continued with her love of teaching in the ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by late husband Morris H. Roebuck Sr., Elwood Evans, grandson Kendall Roebuck, siblings Melvin Rencher, Ronald Rencher, and Thelma Massey. She is survived by all of her 8 children, last surviving sibling Glendora Daniels, "Like a brother" 1st cousin Troy Banks Jr., sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
