Mabel Lee Noel, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, entered eternal peace on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Born October 15, 1928, in Disputanta, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Alice Mae Monroe. Mable attended Disputanta Training High School. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Charlie Richard Noel on June 17, 1946. The young couple moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where they lived a joyous life, until his death. After the death of her husband, she decided she wanted to relocate to Cincinnati, Ohio, to be with her eldest sister, Lucy Fitzgerald. After moving to Cincinnati, she met and became a life-long companion of Mr. Robert Arnold, until his death. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three loving sisters, Mrs. Floressa Reese of Disputanta, Virginia, Mrs. Mattie Young of Clyo, Georgia, and Mrs. Lucy Fitzgerald of Cincinnati; three loving brothers, Mr. Rommie Monroe and Mr. Daniel Monroe, both of Disputanta, Virginia; Mr. Willie Monroe of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and Mr. Robert Monroe, Jr. of Petersburg, Virginia. Mable took great pride in everything that she did. This included her 30+ working tenure at Lanfiar Retirement Home. Mabel demonstrated commitment while heading the Housekeeping Department. After many years of devoted service, Mabel retired from the job she so dearly loved. Mable was a faithful and beloved member of the First Baptist Church of North College Hill. She was an active member of the West college Hill Community Center and could frequently be found visiting the local hospitals to comfort her adored members of the community. Mabel was a giver. She gave freely of herself. She loved people and she cherished her numerous friendships. She was gracious and always a pleasure to be with. Mabel loved and served God with a joyful heart. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving disposition. Mabel was preceded in death by her three loving sisters, Mrs. Floressa Reese of Disputanta, Virginia, Mrs. Mattie Young of Clyo, Georgia, and Mrs. Lucy Fitzgerald of Cincinnati; three loving brothers, Mr. Rommie Monroe and Mr. Daniel Monroe, both of Disputanta, Virginia; Mr. Willie Monroe of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and Mr. Robert Monroe, Jr. of Petersburg, Virginia. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Hunt, Ms. Oakie Monroe, and Mrs. Loraine Reese, all of Cincinnati; Mrs. Odessa Green and Mrs. Alice Taylor, both of Hopewell, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, September 12, 2014 at St. Mark AME Zion Church, 9208 Daly Road, Cincinnati (45231) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
