On January 7, 1958 two babies was born to Clifford and Lurlia, not knowing this, there was a girl and a boy. You can imagine how surprised they were! Their names were Lynette Elaine and Len Edward. At that time everyone was surprised and overjoyed. Only one baby survived, however, and that was Lynette (Lynnie). Len Edward had a medical problem and he had to return to the hospital where he later passed away. We all said that Lynnie would be double trouble! Lynnie went to Windsor Elementary School, Cutter Junior High School and Robert A. Taft High School, where she graduated in June 1978. Her first job was a clerk at a local insurance company, but Lynnie did not like being confined to an office so that job didn't last long. Instead, Lynnie became a good barmaid. She was a people person, and being a barmaid was her passion. She worked at several bars in the Cincinnati area and was well liked. Although she didn't attend church regularly, she loved the Lord. Lynnie was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lurlia McAlister. She leaves two daughters, Deitra (Freddie) Madaris and Derika (Richard) Ellis; seven grandchildren, Asizianna, Jaycon, D'Asia, D'Eric, Richard, Ri'Kyia, Ra'Mello; sisters, Eddie (Sherman) Croft, Janice (James) Houston, Lera Patton, Tanya 'Mookie'' Patton, Kay 'Bunny' McAlister, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother, Dwight (Dale) McAlister of Jacksonville, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, longtime friends, Ronald Taylor, Pat Seymour, Tiffany Cherun Chinn and her new family, Antwan, Shawn of Nashville, Tennessee. Lynnie was the life of the party...and she sure will be missed. Visitation is from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the New Friendship Baptist Church, 3212 Reading Road, Cincinnati (45229).
